Education
Throughout the years I have spent at Verbum Dei I have learned many great lessons that I know will help me succeed in the future. I have learned to do better in class and how to learn and understand subjects better. Before I was like this I used to not care about classes and barely even put half my effort into doing my work. Sometimes I would do good, other times I would barely get by. At first, I wouldn't care but it took me almost failing a class to realize I don't want to be like this anymore and I want to succeed. This change came about mostly because I realized I didn't know what I wanted to do in the future and if I failed, I wouldn't be able to do anything. I got help with my classes by receiving tutoring and started going to office hours to get my grades up. Eventually this made me a better student and a better person. I have learned from two specific teachers how to grow in these ways and they would be my Theology teacher Mr. Ej and my English teacher Mr. Procopio.
Corporate Work Study Experience (CWSP)
The corporate work study program has helped me understand how to better hold down a job and the requirements needed to better understand your position in your job. In my Job I help engineers in labs with their work so I had to learn how to do specific things in the lab and with what tools specifically because each individual thing had its own purpose. However, I wasn't always working in the lab with others. I used to work with computer engineers and design the look of specific things and had to learn how to work on a computer better. I had to be taught these skills, and each individual skill was harder to learn but I slowly understood it better and better as I focused and payed more attention. The CWSP taught me what to expect when first starting a job and to make sure you have the right qualifications for the job you're looking for. Also, it taught me to do what I want to do. When I first started, they gave me a few choices on where to start working. I didn't know what I would like so I tried all different positions and chose which one I liked the most and learned how to do that job well.
